System Engineer (m/f) for UNIX and Databases

We are especially proud of our open source projects Arcavias and Tine2.0 which are on the cutting edge of software engineering and use the latest techniques for building an unmatched user experience. Due to our excellent perspective, we are looking for you, to extend our team in Hamburg's Speicherstadt.

Your duties:

• As a member of a team of experts your main duty will be the administration, documentation, monitoring and operation of our customers’ high-availability hosting-platforms (systems / applications / databases)
• You will plan and set up extensions to existing / new systems and platforms
• In addition you will be taking on duties in the field of network administration (Firewall, Load-Balancer and active network components (routers, switches))
• You will be solving technical problems!
• You will be on stand-by duty (to be distributed among the team)

Our requirements profile:

• Computer Sciences studies or similar training; entrants from other discipline of verifiable aptitude and experience
• Unix server administration (primarily Solaris and Linux)
• Web server administration (primarily Apache and PHP)
• Database administration (primarily MySQL and PostgreSQL)
• Good knowledge of IP networks, firewall and network components
• Good knowledge of Bourne Shell programming
• Good English, written and spoken

Qualifications:

• Infrastructure services: BIND, DHCP, OpenLDAP
• Configuration management: CFEngine, Chef, Puppet
• NGINX, Squid, Tomcat und Varnish
• Dovecot, Postfix, Sendmail, SPAM- and virus production
• Software compiling and packaging
• Cacti, Nagios and Opsview
• Perl, PHP, Ruby
